Joe Mazurkiewicz
	Position: Assoc. Athletic Director-Academics & Student Services Year at Coastal: Sixth

Joe Mazurkiewicz is completing his sixth year as an the Associate Athletics Director for Academics and Student Services at Coastal Carolina University.

Mazurkiewicz has been a part of the Coastal Carolina landscape for the past 22 years, working primarily in student affairs at the University. Most recently, he was the Director of Student Development, where he was responsible for the overall administration and coordination for many of the student services on campus, including Counseling Services, Women Student Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, Career Services and Student Health Services. During his tenure, he also had served as the Director of Counseling Services, head of Student Health Services. He also served as an academic advisor and instructor at Coastal Carolina University.

A member of the American Counseling Association and American College Personnel Association, Mazurkiewicz has had a variety of experiences in his career, including working at Louisiana State University and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and schools and clinics in New Jersey. He studied abroad as a part of the Fulbright/Hays Summer Study in Poland both in 1992 and 2003. He also served a two-year stint in the Peace Corps as a teacher, volunteering in the Marshall Islands, Micronesia in the mid 1970s.
