Bruce Gregory is starting his eighth year at Coastal Carolina University, and his second as Senior Associate Athletic Director. He previously spent two years as Associate A.D. for Internal Operations after serving his first four as the Director of Athletic Compliance.
He came to Coastal Carolina from Eastern Michigan University, where he had previously served as the Assistant Director of Compliance for one year. Prior to that, he spent two years on the EMU football coaching staff and three years as the Director of Football Operations.Gregory joined the EMU football staff in 1998 after spending the 1997 season as an assistant coach at the University of New Haven, the NCAA Division II runners-up with a 12-2 record.
The 46-year-old Gregory previously worked at Bowling Green State University as an assistant football coach twice, from 1986-88 and again from 1992-95. In addition, his father, Jack Gregory, is a former Bowling Green athletics director.
A native of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Gregory went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Western Maryland College in 1984. After graduation, Gregory started his college coaching career at BGSU and from there he served Boston University (1988-91), BGSU a second time, and in 1996 he was the offensive coordinator at Hofstra University. He was part of the 1992 BGSU staff that helped lead the team to the MAC championship and a victory in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Gregory and his wife, Tracy, have a daughter, Megan and a son, Brian.
