Stella Cooper has served as the assistant to the director of athletics since 2005. She has been employed with Coastal Carolina University for more than 35 years; her tenure began in 1969 when she was "the student work-study" under then-director and later chancellor of USC Coastal Carolina College Edward M. Singleton.
From 1978-2005 she held various business management positions at the University including director of campus services and director of fiscal services. In 2005 she joined the Department of Athletics on a part-time basis to handle special projects for the director of athletics.
She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1973 and a master's degree in education in 1985, both from the University of South Carolina.
She is originally from Conway, S.C.
