CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has partnered with Pee Dee Elementary School in its annual community service project called Chants for Kids. Each month during the 2011-12 academic year, SAAC will sponsor a new project for the Chanticleer student-athletes.

For the month of October, Coastal student-athletes will be collecting much needed school supplies for the elementary school. Items will be delivered by the SAAC officers on October 31. Items in need include: No. 2 Pencils, crayons, construction paper, dry erase markers, scissors, magnetic tape (1-inch), washable glue sticks, erasers, pencil bags, hand sanitizer, back packs, stickers, index cards, post it notes, sidewalk chalk, finger paint and folders. Monetary donations will also be accepted. SAAC officers will deliver the items to the school on October 31.

Fans are also welcome to take part in the school supply drive. Donations can be dropped off at the athletics ticket office in Arcadia Hall.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is assembled to create and inspire leadership by providing in-sight to the student-athlete experience and enhance the effectiveness of the Department of Athletics through academic and athletic excellence.
