Student-Athletes Honored for Academic Achievement at Banquet

Four student-athletes and two staff members were recognized for outstanding achievement.

Four Coastal Carolina University student-athletes and two staff members of the athletic department received recognition for outstanding achievement in their respective area of study at the Coastal Carolina Honors ’10 Convocation on Thursday, May 6 in Wheelwright Auditorium.


Men’s tennis player Plamen Tzvetkov received recognition for outstanding student in business management. Women’s Track and field athlete Mikaela Terry was named outstanding student for foreign languages. For women’s basketball, Amanda Stull received an award in biology for her work in the Honors program. Fifth year student and former softball player Brittany Birnbaum earned recognition in health promotion. Event operations assistant Alysa Reardon was honored in recreation and sport management, while volleyball student-assistant Rachel Bonertz was recognized for her work in Biology.


Over 40 students will take part in commencement exercises tomorrow, Saturday, May 8 at Brooks Stadium weather permitting.
