LAFAYETTE, La. – The Coastal Carolina softball team was edged by the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 8-6, in game two of the series on Saturday afternoon.
The script played out similarly to yesterday in the opening inning, as the Chants took a 2-0 lead this time off sacrifice flies from
Brie Normandin and
Kaelin Cash.
Louisiana responded in the bottom of the second frame when Williams cracked a two-run double and Otto followed with a two-run single to put the Ragin' Cajuns in front, 4-2.
Georgia Hood then extended her home run hitting streak to four games when she went yard over the left-center field wall to narrow the gap to 4-3.
Otto continued her strong performance, lacing an RBI triple to right-center field to score Liscano and make the score 5-3.
The Chants regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning when Cash launched a three-run home run over the left-center field wall to give Coastal a 6-5 advantage.
The Ragin' Cajuns battled back in the bottom of the sixth, putting up a three-run inning to secure the 8-6 victory.
Savannah Jones dropped to 2-2 in the circle, giving up three runs on zero hits in the outing.
