The second annual Teal Chicken-Pig Pickin' BBQ Festival and Cook-Off will be held at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 12, 2014, to benefit the Coastal Carolina Letterwinners Association. All proceeds from the event will support the activities of Chanticleer Athletics at Coastal Carolina University.
Entry Fee: $225 (includes 8/case Boston Butt Pork)
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 (No applications will be accepted after the deadline)
$2,000 in prize money
First Place: $1,100, trophy, free entry for 2015
Second Place: $500, trophy
Third Place: $250, plaque
Fourth Place: $150, plaque
Judges will be certified by the South Carolina Barbeque Association.
Each team is limited to four (4) members.
Space is limited to the first 16 teams that apply, pay the $225 entry fee, and are accepted for participation. On receipt of payment and acceptance of your entry form, a letter of approval will be mailed (or emailed) to contestants along with a copy of the rules and regulations and other contest information. An entry is not complete until payment has been received.
Each team will receive one 27'w x 15'd outside space, located in the parking lot in front of Brooks Stadium (QQ). If a larger area is needed, please describe your reasons, including the sizes of grills, props, and any other items used in your cooking set-up. We value our barbeque cookers and we want to help you be successful. Each team may provide a shelter for the space.
