Why is the Coastal Carolina football team moving their bench to the west side of the stadium?
"After spending a season on the east sidelines, our coaching staff believes it would be advantageous for our team and, more importantly, be beneficial to our student-athletes to use the west sidelines moving forward," said Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek. "The move additionally provides an opportunity to install bench back seats in the west stands. This will create another priority seating area for our fans as well as allow a transition for growth on the west side of Brooks Stadium.
"However, as we grow as a program, the sideline our team prefers to operate from should have little consequence on which side our fans choose to sit at Brooks Stadium. The entire stadium is Coastal's home with a small section of seats for visiting teams."
Can I order my football season tickets today?
No, football renewals will be sent out at the end of March and new football season ticket orders will be available at that time.
Why release the new seating diagram if I can not order tickets today?
We have spent the off season listening to the team and fans about what seating options they would like. These changes are in response to those request and we want to make sure our fans have plenty of time to evaluate the new options and make arrangements to sit with their friends in Brooks Stadium this fall.
Will there be a select-a-seat held because of the new configurations?
Yes, we will be holding a football select-a-seat in late July for all season ticket holders who make their Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF) donation and football season ticket order by the deadline.
Do you know the deadline for CAF donations and ordering football season tickets to participate in the football select-a-seat?
The deadline will be Friday, July 12, 2013. The CAF donation chart will be part of the football season ticket release that will be coming out at the end of March.
I ordered season tickets last year and want to know how it will affect me with the new configuration.
For the 2012 football season I ordered teal season tickets.
The teal sections are moving to the 50 yard line sections only, Sections 204 and 205. This will keep the teal sections in the chair back seats and make sure all teal seats are between the 30 yard lines.
I ordered bronze season tickets for the 2012 football season.
You will now have more seating options available to you. Three different seating options:
1. Sections 202-203 or 206-207 chair back seats classified as teal in the 2012 season
2. Sections 103-106 bench back seats
3. Sections 127-128 bench back seats, will now be located behind CCU team
What about those that ordered Family Zone season tickets last year?
The new seating configuration moves the family zone back to the end of east stands as well as put the CCU cheerleaders and Chauncey in front of the family zone!
So to make sure I am reading this right, there will be bench back seating for on the west side of Brooks Stadium/Benton Field?
Yes. Bench backs are being added to Sections 127-128 and will now be classified as Bronze seats.
Will there still be a donation to the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation required for teal and bronze seats?
Yes. A donation will still be required for the teal and bronze season tickets. The donation chart will be released with the football season ticket information at the end of March.
