Four Women and One Man Run at Winthrop Classic

Rock Hill, S.C.- The Coastal Carolina women's cross country team had four runners and the men's team had one compete in the 4K Winthrop Classic Friday, October 14.  Junior Nikki Jasperson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) was the first Lady Chanticleer to cross the finish line with a time of 15:45 giving her 30th place out of 87 runners.   

Also running for Coastal was sophomore Keli Jo White (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) who notched 47th place with a time of 16:15, freshman Peggy Busbee (Aiken, S.C./South Aiken) clocked in at 16:47 giving her 57th place and freshman Katheryin Zenowitz (Groton Long Pt, Conn./Robert E. Fitch Senior High School) finished in 63rd place with a time of 17:22.   

Korey Larson (Sanbam, NY/Niagara Wheatfield (Erie CC)) was the only Coastal male to compete in the event.  He finished with a time of 19:44 in the 6K run, earning him 27th place. 

Both teams are back in action Friday, October 28 when they travel to Charleston Southern for the Big South Championships.
