Women's Cross Country Heads to Paul Short Run

Paul Short Run
The Chants will next participate in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday at 11:45 a.m. The race, hosted by Lehigh University, is in its 35th year, and features more than 4,000 runners who will compete from more than 300 high schools and colleges around the country.

Coastal Carolina Wins Big South Preview
The Chants finished first as a team in the meet with 38 team points. Preseason Conference Poll Liberty followed in second with 45 team points.

Four is a Crowd
The Chanticleers featured five of the top 11 finishers, and were led by freshman Christian Johnson, who took fourth place with a time of 19:33.30. Sophomore Maranie Staab took sixth place, clocking a time of 19:37.60. Staab was followed by Shelby Donahue in eighth place (19:51.00), Theresa Schamberger  in ninth (19:54.90) and Mia Wyszynski, who had been fighting illness, came in 11th (19.59.90).

Coastal Carolina Entries
The Chants will enter seven runners in the seeded race, with Mia Wyszynski, Christian Johnson, Shelby Donahue, Joyce Curtin, Theresa Schamberger, and Rindi Wood running in the seeded race. Keli-Jo White and Peggy Busbee will par
take in the open race.

USTFCCCA Showing the Chants Some Love
The Chants are currently ranked No. 10 in the Southeast Regional Poll by the USTFCCCA. Coastal Carolina is one of two Big South Conference schools in the top 15, as Liberty is ranked No. 12.

Chants Second in Preseason Poll
Coastal Carolina garnered 93 points and three-first place votes to place second in the annual Big South Conference Preseason Poll for the second-consecutive year. Defending champion Liberty took the top spot with 97 points and seven first-place votes.

Coastal Carolina will next be in action as it heads to the Blue Ridge Mountain Open hosted by Appalachian State on Friday., Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
