Women's Cross Country Listed Second in Preseason Poll

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina garnered 115 points and three first-place votes to place second in the Big South Conference Women's Cross Country preseason poll, as announced on Wednesday (Aug. 15). Defending Big South Champion Liberty received 125 points and 13 first-place votes to claim the top spot in the poll that is voted by the league's coaches and sports information directors.

High Point received 95 points and placed third. UNC Asheville ranked fourth with 70 points, while Winthrop was three points behind in fifth place. Rounding out the rest of the poll was Radford in sixth, VMI in seventh and Charleston Southern in eighth.

The Lady Chanticleers open the season on Friday, Aug. 31 at the Covered Bridge Open in Boone, N.C. Race time is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
