Volleyball’s Jensen and Hampton Selected to First Team All-Big South

Coastal Carolina volleyball juniors Katherine Jensen (Vancouver, British Columbia/Sentinel Secondary (Ole Miss)) and Jennifer Hampton (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro) were both selected to the Big South’s First Team All-Conference team, the Big South announced on Friday evening, Nov. 19, at the annual volleyball banquet  in Asheville, N.C.

Jensen is the current kills leader in Big South, as she is averaging 4.50 kills per game. Jensen is also in the top four in the conference in digs per game at 4.12. This is the second consecutive season Jensen has been selected as a First-Team honoree. Jensen also was a named to the Academic All-Conference team for the first time at the ceremony.

Hampton is currently fourth in the conference in assists per game, 11.73. Hampton also captured the conference's Player of the Week award twice this season, Sept. 20 and Oct. 10. She also became Coastal's All-Time Assist leader this season, as she has now tallied 4,011 career assists.

CCU will next be in action on Saturday, Nov. 20, as they head to UNC Asheville to participate in the Big South Semifinals against Birmingham-Southern at 5 p.m.. The winner will play the championship game against either Winthrop or Liberty on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. for a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
