Volleyball players earned honors at the Big South's Annual Volleyball Awards Banquet

ROCK HILL, S.C.— Coastal Carolina University senior outside hitters Katie Knutson and Jeanne Lambert, along with freshman setter Jennifer Hampton each earned honors at the Big South Conference's annual Volleyball Awards Banquet on Wednesday evening.

Lambert was selected for the second time to the Big South First Team All-Conference for the second time in her career leading Coastal in both kills (466) and digs (530). She also was second in hitting percentage at .241. Lambert, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, was also named as the Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second time.

Knutson was selected to Big South First Team All-Conference second consecutive year leading CCU with a hitting percentage of .273, while finishing second on the team, behind Lambert in kills (417) and digs (424). The Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada native already ranks second in both categories on CCU's career records list.

Hampton, a native of Lake Forest California, was named both Freshman of the Year as well as Second Team All-Big South Conference. Hampton led the Lady Chanticleers with a single season school record of 1,370 assists during the regular season. She was also named Freshman of the Week five different times during the regular season.

The #2-seeded Lady Chanticleer Volleyball team will face # 7 seed Charleston Southern, Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum.
