Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season with a 3-0 Win Over High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C.-- Coastal Carolina spoiled Senior Day for High Point with a
3-0 victory over the Panthers Saturday afternoon in volleyball action at the Millis Center.

The Chants improve to 20-10, 11-3 in the Big South, while HPU finishes the
regular season at 7-26, 2-12.

Coastal built a lead in game one, only to see the Panthers re-take the lead
25-24. But the Chants rallied to take the final six points and the game,
30-25. Katie Knutson led the way with eight kills in the game.

The Panthers fell behind in an 8-0 hole en route to a 30-12 defeat in game
two. The Chants compiled a solid .571 hitting percentage in the game, led by
seven kills from Jeanne Lambert. CCU then closed out the Panthers with a 30-21
victory in game three.

Lambert finished with a match-high 16 kills, while Knutson added 12 kills and
no errors for a .577 hitting percentage. Jennifer Hampton provided 41 assists
for Coastal.

Kimberly Wright paced High Point with 12 kills and eight digs, both team
highs.

It was the final regular-season game for four Panther seniors: Wright, Casi
Baker, Tracyann Pryce, and Lindsey Steinhaus.

The Panthers and Chants will both open the Big South Tournament Thursday in
Lynchburg, Va., against opponents to be determined.
