Volleyball's Laffin Named Big South Freshman of the Week

This marks her second Big South Freshman of Week honor this season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Meghan Laffin of the Coastal Carolina University volleyball team was named Big South Freshman of the Week for the matches played Nov. 8-14, the league announced today.  


Laffin, a middle blocker/right side hitter from Holbrook, N.Y., posted 21 kills on .341 hitting as well as eight blocks and four aces in two matches for the Chanticleers last week.  Against Radford on Nov. 12, Laffin recorded 11 kills, hit .400 and posted five blocks and two aces.  The next day at High Point, she found the floor for 10 kills and two aces to go along with three rejections.  The honor marks her second Big South Freshman of the Week honor this season.


 Laffin and the Chanticleers head to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Big South Tournament and will face tournament host Winthrop at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18.
