Hardeman, Alvis Take Sun Belt Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Sun Belt Conference announced its final weekly volleyball awards for the 2017 season on Monday, with Coastal Carolina student-athletes Leah Hardeman and Sydney Alvis earning Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
The Offensive honor is the sixth of the season for Hardeman, making her the only volleyball athlete in the conference to win a weekly award six times this season. Alvis is taking her second Defensive honor this year.
The pair of Chants helped Coastal finish off its regular season schedule this past weekend with wins at South Alabama and Troy. The final victory gave Coastal its 12th straight win, and clinched the top overall seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference championship.
