Volleyball's Kimes Collects Third Freshman of the Week Honor

CONWAY, S.C. -- Freshman Chelsy Kimes (Munster, Ind./Munster) was tabbed Big South New Balance Freshman of the Week, the League announced today, Nov. 12. It is Kimes' third Freshman of the Week honor this season, garnering the honor Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.

Kimes posted her team-leading 10th double-double on the season with 21 kills and 12 digs in Coastal's 3-1 win at Charleston Southern on Nov. 9. She also added a match-high five aces, including two each in games three and four. Both her 21 kills and her five aces tied career-highs.

Coastal returns to action this week at the Big South Conference Tournament. The Lady Chanticleers enter the tournament as the fourth-seed and face fifth-seeded Radford in the first round on Thursday, Nov. 15. Match time is set for 7 p.m. from Liberty's Vines Center.
