Volleyball's Nyhof Receives Academic All-District Honors
CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina volleyball sophomore Jill Nyhof (Alpharetta, Ga./Northview) garnered ESPN The Magazine Academic-All District III University Division honors on Thursday (Nov. 8) as announced by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Nyhof was selected to the Second Team and is the fourth different player and Coastal's sixth time overall to receive Academic All-District honors. Out of the 20 players selected to the First, Second and Third Teams, Nyhof was one of four selected that was not from an ACC or an SEC school.
Boasting a 4.0 grade point average as a political science major, Nyhof leads the team with 369 kills and is second with a 3.48 kill per game average. Nyhof, a preseason All-Conference honoree, was selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week on Sept. 10 after tallying 58 kills and hitting .304 at the Comfort Suites 49ers Volleyball Classic.
Coastal closes out the regular season at Charleston Southern Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
