Friday Night Finale

The 2007 regular season comes to a close on Friday night at Charleston Southern. Coastal has won four of its last five regular season finales, including a 3-0 sweep of Charleston Southern last year and a 3-2 win at Charleston Southern in 2005. Since 1991, the Lady Chants are 12-4 in regular season finales.

Locked In Fourth

Although the official seedings have not been released, Coastal Carolina has secured the fourth seed in the Big South Tournament, regardless of the result of Friday night’s match. The Lady Chants currently hold a 5-6 Big South record. Third-place High Point is currently 7-3, while fifth-place Radford is 3-8.

Starbuck Digs A Grand

Junior Brett Starbuck tallied her 1,000th career dig during game two against Presbyterian on Oct. 26. She became the ninth Lady Chanticleer in program history to reach the mark and the first since Kristin Rinne, who recorded her 1,000th dig against the College of Charleston on Nov. 27, 2005. Since Oct. 26, Starbuck has compiled 80 digs and now has 1,070 career digs to her name.

Eight-Match Homestand Comes To An End

The Lady Chanticleers wrapped up their eight-match homestand on Saturday, Sept. 29 with a 6-2 record. Coastal’s eight home matches was its second longest span of home matches since 1988. The longest stretch is 12 matches in 2003 and  Coastal went 8-4 in that stretch.

Kimbel Sweet Kimbel...

Coastal Carolina knows how to defend its home court. Since 1987, the Lady Chanticleers are 168-96 in home matches.

...The Unfriendly Road

While the Lady Chants enjoy the comforts of Kimbel Arena, the road hasn’t been quite as friendly. Since 1987, Coastal is currently 94-143 in away matches. Additionally, Coastal has only had five winning away records.

The Home Court Advantage

Coastal has gone 13-6 in its first Big South Conference home match since 1988. In her tenure, head coach Kristen Bauer has guided the Lady Chants to a 6-3 record in conference home openers.

When In November

Coastal Carolina is 34-24 all-time in the month of November under head coach Kristen Bauer. Not including the Big South Tournament, Bauer has guided the Lady Chants to a 27-16 November mark. The most overall wins by Coastal in the month of November was seven in 2002.

When In October

Coastal Carolina is 52-40 in the month of October under head coach Kristen Bauer. The most wins by Coastal in the month of October was nine, which was reached in both 2004 and 2005. Coastal went 3-6 in October this season.

When In September

Under head coach Kristen Bauer, Coastal Carolina is 56-62 in the month of September, including 9-5 this year. The Lady Chants’ nine wins ties the most matches Coastal has won in a single September under Bauer. Coastal first reached nine September wins in 2003 with a 9-4 mark.
