CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina volleyball team (10-18, 3-8) will be playing in its final home match of the 2011 season on Tuesday, Nov. 1, against South Carolina State (15-13, 6-1) at 6 p.m. The Chanticleers will recognize its three seniors, Simone Autry, Erika Lightsey and Kelsie Mauck following the match.
Coastal plays South Carolina State for the second time this season, with the Bulldogs winning the first match 3-1 on Oct. 11. The Chanticleers hold the 20-5 advantage in the all-time series record and have never lost back-to-back matches to the Bulldogs.
The Chanticleers are coming off of a 3-0 loss to Presbyterian on Oct. 29. Presbyterian won the match by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19. Sophomore Kindra Bailey led the Chants with eight kills and four blocks. Sophomore Lindsay Gill grabbed eight digs on the afternoon and fellow classmate Sam Skryd finished the match with 23 assists. Freshman Katie Martin had two service aces in the match.
Coastal is averaging 14.6 digs, 11.7 kills, 10.8 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.5 aces a set. Martin is leading the team in service aces (36), points (286.0) and is tied with Bailey in blocks with 73. Lightsey is leading the team in kills with 261 and Gill has 389 digs on the season. Skryd has a team high 658 assists.
South Carolina State got back into the win column in its last match by beating Bethune-Cookman University on Oct. 30, in four sets in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Bulldogs won the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-20. Bethune-Cookman pulled out a 25-22 win in the third set before South Carolina State was able to take the fourth set 25-23. Desire Waller finished the match with a double-double recording 13 kills and 15 digs. Melissa Robinson posted a team high 18 digs and Elizabeth Webb tallied four service aces. Tiffane' Jackson and Shabree Roberson each posted four blocks in the win. Bria Brimmer led the team in assists with 36.
South Carolina State is averaging 12.1 digs, 11.5 kills, 10.5 assists, 2.0 aces, 1.9 blocks per set and the Bulldogs have an attacking percentage of .212.

#15 Simone Autry
Simone, a biology major, has played in 13 matches and 18 sets over her four year stint on the Coastal Carolina volleyball team. Simone has recorded five digs, two kills, two assists, one block and two points, while playing for the Chanticleers. During the 2008 season she posted a career high two digs against Hampton on Sept. 20, one block vs. Presbyterian on Oct. 17. On Oct. 20 she tallied a career high one assist versus South Carolina State. Although she has seen limited playing time due to injury, Simone has been a vocal leader for the Chanticleers.
#6 Erika Lightsey
Erika, a biology major, has played in 97 matches and 284 sets while at Coastal. During her four years as a member of the Coastal volleyball team she has tallied 597 kills, 29 assists, 18 service aces, 470 digs, 83 total blocks and 662.0 points. She has a career attacking percentage of .177. On the season Erika has posted a season high 21 kills and four assists versus Robert Morris, an attacking percentage of .476 versus North Carolina A&T, four blocks versus South Carolina State and has tallied 13 digs on three occasions. Her career high of 22 digs came against Campbell on Oct. 19, 2009. On Oct. 26, 2010 she posted a career high three aces against Winthrop.
#7 Kelsie Mauck
Kelsie, a management major, has played in 99 matches and 273 sets for the Chanticleers and is sixth in set assists on Coastal’s Career Record List with 1645. She has 99 kills, 55 service aces, 368 digs, 52 blocks and has earned 181.5 points while at Coastal. She has an attacking percentage of .188 and had a season best attacking percentage of .227 during her sophomore campaign. This season Mauck had a stand-out game against Robert Morris where she posted a season best five kills, 44 assists, five service aces and three blocks, while also posting a .357 attacking percentage. She earned a career high 51 assists and 10 kills against Radford on Oct. 16, 2010. Mauck recorded a career high 17 digs against Wake Forest during her sophomore season.
