Junior setter Jennifer Hampton (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro) was named the Big South Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 10, the conference announced today, Oct. 11.
Hampton was outstanding in the thrilling five game match against UNC Asheville, setting a personal career-high and a conference high for the season with 69 assists. Hamptons previous career high was 66 assists against Liberty University during the 2002 season.
For the week, Hampton tallied 113 assists and 28 digs in Coastals two matches. She also talled a double-double in both her games this week, and is second on the team with 11 double-doubles this season.
This is the second time the Big South has named Hampton the Player of the Week. During the week ending Sept 20, Hampton had 161 assists and 57 digs in Coastals four matches and was named the Co-Player of the Week.
Coastal volleyball will next be in action on Wednesday, Oct. 11, as it welcomes UNC Wilmington to Kimbel Arena for a 7 p.m. match.
