Volleyball Sweeps Radford, 3-0

RADFORD, Va. -- The Radford University fell for the fourth consecutive match, 3-0,
to Coastal Carolina Friday night in Big South Conference volleyball action at
the Dedmon Center. Game scores for the Chanticleers, 30-18, 35-33, 30-21.

Coastal Carolina (10-5, 2-0 BSC) had four players collect double-digit kills
led by Katie Knutson with 15. Carly Draudt and Jeanne Lambert added 14 and 13
kills respectively and Sarah Bennett chipped in with 12. Lambert led the
Chanticleers’ defense with 16 digs while Knutson collected 14.

For RU (4-14, 0-4), Divona Cox , Katie McHugh , and Vicki Fisher led the Highlander offense with eight kills apiece. Senior Karri Attinger led the Highlander defense with 19 digs. Bliss Mulligan added 15 digs.

Knutson hit .419 on the match making just two errors in 31 attempts, as CCU hit
.283 as a team on the match. Radford held the advantage in blocking
nine-to-four.

The Highlanders jump back into action tomorrow afternoon hosting BSC foe
Charleston Southern at 2 p.m. Coastal will travel to Liberty for a 2 p.m.
match with the Flames.
