Volleyball's Jensen-Spencer Receives Big South Weekly Honors

CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina’s Katherine Jensen-Spencer (Vancouver, B.C./Sentinel Secondary (Mississippi)) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Player of the Week in volleyball, the League announced today.

Jensen-Spencer earned her second consecutive Player of the Week honor as she led her Lady Chanticleers to a 3-0 record on the week, including two League wins. The outside hitter posted three double-double matches, including two matches with more than 20 kills. Jensen-Spencer notched 67 kills (5.58 per game), while hitting .232. Defensively, she posted 43 digs and seven blocks on the week.

Jensen-Spencer has already tallied 194 kills for the 2005 season, and has 1,193 career kills, holding to the sixth spot on CCU’s all-time career kills list, she is just two kills away from the fifth position.

CCU will face Radford in Conway, S.C. Friday at 7 p.m. and then take on Liberty, Saturday in Kimbel Arena at 2 p.m.
