CONWAY, S.C. -- The CoastalCarolinaUniversity volleyball team will be participating in the DIG PINK National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally during the month of October. The Chanticleers mission is to increase awareness of breast cancer throughout the community and raise funds to help eradicate breast cancer. The Chants will be hosting their DIG PINK match against the Winthrop Eagles Tuesday, Oct. 7, where they will be donning pink uniforms for the match in conjunction with plenty of giveaways for the home crowd. This special DIG PINK event will recognize Martha Davis, wife of Coastal Carolina women's tennis Head Coach Jody Davis. Mrs. Davis is a six-year survivor of breast cancer, and a beloved member of the Chanticleer family. The Chanticleers ask that all attendees wear pink as teams all across the country band together in the ongoing fight against breast cancer. All proceeds generated through the month of October will be donated to The Side-Out Foundation () and a local breast cancer organization in the Myrtle Beach/Conway area.
DIG PINK is an event supported by college and high school volleyball coaches and teams committed to support the goals of the Side-Out Foundation.
