Volleyball's Mauck Collects Big South Freshman of the Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coastal Carolina University volleyball setter Kelsie Mauck (Muncie, Ind./Delta) was tabbed the Big South Conference New Balance Freshman of the Week, the League announced today.

Mauck recorded 100 assists and 10 assists per set to help the Chanticleers to a 2-1 record over the weekend. She started her weekend with 35 assists, eight digs, two blocks and two kills in Coastal Carolina’s 3-0 over Georgia State on Sept. 12.  The next day against Troy, Mauck dished out 40 assists and came away with four blocks, four digs and three kills.  She closed the weekend out with 25 assists, two kills, two digs and two blocks as the Chants defeated Chattanooga, 3-0.  For her efforts, Mauck was named to the Chanticleer Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Chanticleers return to action Friday, Sept. 19 at the South Carolina State Invitational, with their first match against the hosts S.C. State. First serve is slated for 2:30 p.m.
