Both players earned spots on the All-Tournament Team at the Comfort Suites 49ers Volleyball Tournament. Nyhof totaled 58 kills, including the match-winners against UNC Greensboro and Morgan State. Bickford, who garnered her second All-Tournament honor of the season, hit a team-best .438, tallying 41 kills off 80 total attacks with only six errors. She had the game-winning kill in game four against UNC Greensboro to force a deciding game five. Also in that match, she recorded a career-high 19 kills and committed no attack errors.

A Wolf Of A Day
Nearly nothing could stop junior Kristin Wolf from having a career day on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Comfort Suites 49ers Volleyball Tournament. In Coastal’s morning match, Wolf recorded her first double-double with a career-high 13 kills and a career-high 16 digs. However, those 16 digs didn’t remain a career-high for long. Later on Saturday, the Andover, Kan. native posted 20 digs against Morgan State.
No Errors For Bickford
When freshman Megan Bickford had no attack errors against UNC Greensboro, it marked the second time this season the Olathe, Kan. native has accomplished that feat. Bickford’s first no-error match came against Louisville, where she hit .667 and connected on six of nine total attacks. In her most recent no-error match, Bickford made a career-high 19 kills off 33 total attacks for a .576 hitting percentage.
A Pair of 60’s
Sophomore Meagan Tracey had back-to-back 60-assist matches at the Comfort Suites 49ers Volleyball Tournament with 64 against UNC Greensboro and 60 versus Morgan State. Prior to last weekend, Tracey only had one 60+ assist match to her name, a 71-assist match at Birmingham-Southern last season.
Eyeing 20-20
When sophomore Jill Nyhof tallies 20 kills in one match, chances are she’ll have 20+ kills in the next match. Four of her five 20+ kill matches came in sets of two. Only once has Nyhof not followed up a 20+ kill match with another 20+ kills.
Road Stop
The Lady Chanticleers will put traveling on hold for a little bit. Following this weekend’s match at Charlotte, Coastal has eight straight home matches, starting with its Caravelle Resort Invitational on Friday, Sept. 14.
Kimbel Sweet Kimbel
Coastal Carolina knows how to defend its home court. Since 1987, the Lady Chanticleers are 161-88 in home matches, including having won five of their last six matches at Kimbel Arena.
Welcome To Kimbel
Buffalo and Delaware will both be making their first trip to Kimbel Arena this weekend. Although Coastal has faced both teams a combined five times, three were at a neutral site and two were at Buffalo. In the Coastal-Gardner Webb meeting in 1984, it was not denoted where the match was played.

Same Tournament, New Name
For the first time ever, Coastal Carolina’s tournament will be called The Caravelle Resort Invitational. For the last two years, it was known as the Microtel Inn & Suites CCU Classic.
Tournament Sweeps
Sweeping a tournament can be a difficult feat. Coastal Carolina hasn’t won all three matches in a single tournament since 2002 when the Lady Chants defeated Buffalo 3-2, Canisius 3-0 and Bucknell 3-0 at Buffalo’s Tournament Aug. 30-31.
Sweeping Out The House
In its last 11 home-openers, Coastal Carolina is 7-4. Out of those 11, eight matches had scores of 3-0, including six of Coastal’s wins.
Cruising With a 2-1 Record
Coastal has gone 2-1 in its final regular season tournament in four of the last five years. Out of those five tournaments,, four have been at Coastal Carolina while the other was at Clemson.
