Volleyball Drops Opener to Idaho at LMU-Four Points Sheraton Classic

Coastal Carolina volleyball opened the Loyola Marymount-Four Points Sheraton Classic with a very close 3-0 loss to Idaho, Fri., Sept. 2.
Coastal (1-1) was in all three games throughout, losing the three games by a combined 10 points (30-26, 31-29, 30-26). The Lady Chanticleers and Vandals were close in hitting percentage but a big difference was seen at the service line, where Idaho (3-1) had eight aces to CCU's two.
CCU was led by senior outside hitter Katherine Jensen-Spencer, who recorded a team-high 13 kills, while junior Alicia Meyers was the only other Coastal player with double-figure kills with 10. Idaho was led by Kati Tikker with 13 kills and a .370 hitting percentage.
The Lady Chanticleers are back in action tomorrow, playing Loyola Marymount and Northeastern in the final day of the tournament.
