Ashley Scheible Preseason Journal

The second half of preseason was a tough one. As our bodies got more and more tired, we found practices to be much harder and longer. This year has been a great year so far. Everyone works really hard and is trying to improve in every aspect.

We have four wonderful new freshman to add to our team. They seem to impress us more and more everyday. They work extra hard in practice to get themselves at a college level of play. We really seem to connect with them both on and off the court. I think they all really felt the pain of what a college preseason is really like.

We all really used ice bags to the fullest extent and we do get nice breaks with some team activities. The freshman prepared us a potluck ice cream party in their nice little dorm rooms which was really fun. We all let lose for a while and went to town on some ice cream.

I would have to say the best team activity was Myrtle Waves. It’s a really fun water park with huge slides that our team loved. A big portion of us invented sleeping trains in the lazy river and wave pool. It was very nice to float along and catch up on some sleep while we worked on our tan.

Overall this preseason has really brought our team together. We have all become very close and focused on becoming and all around better team. We are young this year but I think that that is only an advantage. It adds new things to the team and we all work really hard and strive for the same goal. I can’t wait to see what is to come!
