Wow! This is crazy…I can’t believe summer is over and preseason is starting already! My LAST preseason ever….Craziness!! Everyone is finally back, (Kristin) Rinne and I went to the dorms to meet the new freshmen. Jill (Nyhof) had an interesting time getting into her dorm room she was supposed to be moving into...she got in the next day, which also happened to be the day we started preseason. All the girls met outside the locker room and then we went to the classroom and had lunch together. Our wrists were tied to the persons’ next to us, literally! After lunch we went out to the sand courts and did a little obstacle course with a partner who was blindfolded. Except for our feet and hands burning from the hot sun on the sand, it was a lot of fun. After, we went back to the gym and played a couple of games and team building things in the small gym, then we called it a day.

Coach told us to go home for the night but we were meeting at the beach the next morning at 8:45. Preseason was definitely looking good so far! We picked up the freshman and headed to the beach where we spent the morning playing in the ocean and riding kayaks. When it was time to leave, we piled into the cars and headed back to school for a water balloon toss. Preseason day two was perfect!!

Monday was a long day of getting equipment, lockers, keys, having team meetings which were followed by more meetings with Dr. Joe (Academics), Bruce (Compliance), and the trainers. We had pictures at noon and then reality started to set in when Rinne, Ashley, and I had to go get our “senior picture.” Really weird! Time has gone way too fast. After pictures, we had more meetings and then took a couple of hours to prepare for our running test. We got some rest and then met back at the gym to run, the entire team made the time on the first try, for the first time ever!! Earlier in the day
Megan Pollard came up with our team quote: “If you want what you’ve never had, you must do what you’ve never done.” This was our first step towards getting what we’ve never had! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings! So far things are looking very good!
