Coastal Volleyball Announces 2018 Summer Camps

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina volleyball team will hold several training sessions this summer, including individual instructions and team camps.

Serve-Pass-Defense/Setter/Hitter Camps (July 7-9)
These three position camps are designed for 4th-12th grade players interested in specialized skill training. The camps are geared for beginner, intermediate and advanced level players looking to specialize in a specific position. Campers will be divided onto courts by skill level and experience, which will provide the appropriate learning environment.

Overnight Camper Fee: $355 (7 camp sessions, 6 meals, 2 nights housing, camp T-shirt, other various prizes)

Commuter Fee: $315 (7 camp sessions, 4 meals, camp T-shirt, other various prizes)

Elite All Skills Camp (July 10-12)
This camp is open to 7th-12th grade intermediate (one year recreation or club experience) and advanced-level (minimum two years' experience) volleyball players.

The Elite All Skills Camp is the most advanced camp, as it offers instructions and training in all aspects of volleyball, including the techniques of serving, passing, setting, attacking, defense and blocking. It focuses on developing and perfecting court movement and ball control, as well as offensive and defensive system play. A wide variety of drills, games and competition will be used to put these techniques into practice.

Overnight Camper Fee: $355 (7 camp sessions, 6 meals, 2 nights housing, camp T-shirt, other various prizes)

Commuter Fee: $315 (7 camp sessions, 4 meals, camp T-shirt, other various prizes)

Team Camps (July 13-15 | July 16-18)
Two separate team camps will be offered. Both include skill and development, with significant emphasis on 6 v 6 play. Both camps are identical, and include 20 percent skill development, 20 percent tournament play and 60 percent team chemistry and side out drills.

The competitive camp sessions provide members of varsity and junior varsity high school teams an opportunity to train together while learning and refining their skills.

The team chemistry and side out drills are intense games that will prepare the team for the upcoming season.

The tournament is a round-robin format that allows each team a minimum of 10 games played.

During the team camps, there will also be two one-hour coaching clinics. Each session will demonstrate teaching methods and the progression of serving, passing, setting, blocking, hitting and defense.
