CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina volleyball team closed out its 2013 spring season with a tournament at NC State and a few practices down on the beach. The Chants played a total of eight matches throughout the spring including four at the NC State Tournament.

The Chants opened up against Duke at NC State and fell in two sets. The Chants took the Blue Devils to the wire in the first set falling 26-24 before dropping the second set. CCU then took on conference-rival High Point. Coastal lost the first set 25-23 but then dominated the second set 25-14. The Chants then took on the host NC State. The Wolfpack were ranked as high as the top-30 last season but CCU gave them a tough match as the Chants fell 25-23 in the first set before dropping the second set. The final match of the day was against Charlotte. CCU swept the 49ers, winning the first set 26-24 before taking the second set 25-14.

The Chants returned home to Conway and took advantage of their proximity to the beach and held a few practices down near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to close out their spring season.

The Chants return the core of their lineup that took Coastal to the Championship match of the Big South Conference Tournament last season and will be adding a few new pieces to the mix next season.
