Trailing to Radford by as many as three points towards the end of the fifth set, the Coastal Carolina volleyball team rallied to win the set 16-14 to be named 2014 Big South Champions, and win the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Volleyball Championship.
The Coastal Carolina volleyball team dispatched No. 6 High Point in three sets on Friday night to advance to the Big South Championship final for the eighth time in program history, and the third time in the past three years under the direction of head coach Jozsef Forman.
Second-seeded Coastal Carolina downed No. 7 Gardner-Webb in Thursday's final quarterfinal match of the Big South Volleyball Championship to advance to the semifinals where it will face No. 6 High Point. The Chants and Panthers will square off in Friday's second semifinal match, set to begin at approximately 7 pm.
Coastal Carolina is set to host the 2014 Big South Volleyball Championship this week, beginning with the quarterfinal round on Thursday. The eight-team field will look to advance to Friday's semifinals, and a champion will be crowned on Sunday, with the title game featured on ESPN3. All matches will be played at The HTC Center.
