Women's Track & Field Relay Quartet Named Big South Athletes of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina women’s 4x400 meter team of Vondeeshia Humphries (Columbia, S.C.), Ikeiylah Brown (Hilton Head, S.C.), Santresa Jamison (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Amber White (Ladson, S.C.) were tabbed the Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the League announced today.

The Coastal Carolina quartet posted a Big South record time of 3:40.47 in the 4x400 meter event to regionally qualify for the NCAA Championships at the Penn Relays over the weekend. The squad finished fifth overall in the collegiate finals.

The Big South record time comes less than a week after the squad captured the Big South 4x400-meter relay title with a time of 3:44.70.

The foursome will next be in action on Sat., May 2 as the Chanticleers participate in the Vertklasse Meeting in High Point, N.C.
