Women's Track & Field Alumna Campbell Finishes Seventh at IAAF Meet

DAKAR, Senegal - Former Coastal Carolina women's track and field All-American and current volunteer assistant coach Amber Campbell finished seventh at the Grand Prix IAAF Hammer Throw Challenge in Dakar, Senegal April 24.

Campbell finished the meet with a 222’6.47” (67.83m) throw. Anita Wlodarczyk of Poland won the event with a throw of 246’5.87” (75.13m). Currently, Campbell is ranked 14th in the world with her 233’1” (71.04m) throw at the Mt. SAC Relays, the top American in the event.

Campbell, a five-time NCAA All-American and 16-time Big South champion, holds the Coastal Carolina school records in the weight throw, indoor shot put, outdoor shot put, discus and the hammer throw. She graduated as the All-Time American Collegiate record holder in the weight throw and the Co-American Collegiate record holder in the hammer throw.
