Alumna Wins Hammer Throw at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, CALIF. - Former Coastal Carolina women's track and field All-American and current volunteer assistant Coach Amber Campbell won the hammer throw at the 52nd Annual Mt. SAC Relays April 17.

Campbell opened themeet with a 233'1" (71.04m) throw to eventually win the event and set a new personal best, ranking her sixth in the world.

Campbell will compete in the IAAF World Hammer Throw Challenge in Dakar, Senegal on Saturday, April 24.

Campbell, a five-time NCAA All-American and 16-time Big South champion, holds the Coastal Carolina school records in the weight throw, indoor shot put, outdoor shot put, discus and the hammer throw. She graduated as the All-Time American Collegiate record holder in the weight throw and the Co-American Collegiate record holder in the hammer throw.
