Women's Track Travels To Virginia Tech for Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s indoor track and field team is sending six athletes to the Virginia Tech Last Chance meet to compete on Saturday, March 5.  

Kierra Gabe, who was named the Women’s Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2011 Big South Championships, is set to participate in the high jump on Saturday.  Last weekend, she set a Big South meet record in the high jump with a 5’8” (1.73m) mark.

Darriale Henley is set to participate in the long jump at Virginia Tech and Ashley Davis is looking to improve in the 60-meter hurdles after placing eighth last week.

Erica Peake is set to compete in the 200 meters, after winning her first Big South title with a time of 24.64.

Vondeeshia Humphries, Santresa Jamison, Peake and Davis are the members of the 4x400 meter relay, with Humphries and Davis returning from last week’s win in the 4x400 meter relay team at the Big South.

All six athletes will be trying to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas on March 11-12.
