CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track & field team is traveling to Clemson, S.C., for the second time this season to compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11. The Chanticleers are competing in the Tiger Paw Invitational for the fifth time.

The Chanticleers will have 26 student-athletes competing at the event this weekend, which features athletes from 30 schools. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 with the 5,000-meter run and the long jump. The Tiger Paw Invitational will continue on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. with the distance medley relay and the pole vault.

Coastal has already posted three school records, 33 Big South top-10 indoor rankings and more than 30 top-10 performances in the three meets that they have competed in so far this season. Last weekend, the 4x400 meter relay (Peake, Thompson, Jamison and Barnes) set a new school record with a time of 3:48.42 at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup, beating the previous school record of 3:49.10, which was set in 2006. Mary Lawrence also set a school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.78 meters (12-04.75) and the distance medley relay posted a time of 12:15.70, breaking the previous school record of 12:18.91.
