CONWAY, S.C. –The Coastal Carolina University women’s indoor track and field team heads to the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup, hosted by Penn State on Saturday, Feb. 5.  It will be the only other meet besides the Big South Championship where the Chanticleers will be scored as a team.  Coastal is taking 27 athletes to compete in 15 events at the one-day meet.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with the last event slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.  There will be 14 teams in attendance including East Carolina, James Madison, Liberty and UNC Wilmington.

The Chanticleers return three of the four members of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed eighth overall last year.  Also returning is Darriale Henley, who earned two top-10 finishes last year after finishing second in the long jump and eighth in the 60 meters.  Sierrah Oates was a top-10 finisher in the long jump last season, along with Shantelle Patterson in the weight throw and Santresa Jamison in the 400 meters.
