CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's track & field team will compete in the Clemson Invitational in Clemson, S.C., on Friday and Saturday, January 27-28. Field events will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, while track events will start at 5 p.m.

Coastal has 22 student-athletes slated to compete this weekend in the Chanticleers' second meet of the indoor season.

The Chanticleers last competed in the Virginia Tech Invitational two weeks ago where the distance medley set a new school record with a time of 12:15.7, breaking the previous record, which was set in 2004, by three seconds. Letitia Saayman, Christian Johnson, Christina Davis and Sophie Perry earned one of Coastal's seven top 10 performances in the Virginia Tech Invitational.

Coastal is looking to have another strong showing in the Clemson Invitational this year, as they posted 18 top 10 performances last year.

On Saturday, field events are scheduled to start at noon and track events are set to launch at 1 p.m.

Coastal will be traveling back to Clemson for the Tiger Paw Invitational in two weeks.

Live results will be active at the conclusion of the first event.
