GREENSBORO, N.C. - Coastal Carolina University women's track and field junior Deborah Mattern finished 18th in the javelin at the First Round of the NCAA Championship at Irwin Belk Track Thursday, May 27.
Mattern threw 141'1" (43.01m) on her third throw to finish third out of 16 in her flight and 18th out of 48 competitors, just missing the finals, which was the top 16 athletes.
The Chanticleers will have two athletes competing tomorrow in Brittany Connor in the hammer throw and Ikeiylah Brown in the 200 meters.
