Women's Track and Field Concludes Georgia Tech Invitational

Both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams finished fourth in events.

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s track and field team concluded the Georgia Tech Invitational Saturday, May 15 in Atlanta, Ga.

Both the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams had solid performances, both finishing fourth in highly competitive fields. The 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of London Smalls, Ikeiylah Brown, Vondeeshia Humphries and Darriale Henley, ran 45.66 in the event and the 4x400-meter relay team of Santresa Jamison, Vondeeshia Humphries, Samantha Keenan and Ikeiylah Brown finished with a time of 3:44.38.

In other track events, Christian Johnson ran 2:16.86 in the 800 meters, placing 41st. In the 400 meters, Humphries was the top finisher for the Chanticleers in 24th with a time of 56.16. Jamison was right behind in 25th, crossing the line in 56.43 and Thomasena Smith rounded out the pack with a time of 57.78.

Kierra Gabe placed 15th in the high jump with a 5’7” (1.70m) mark and Kandisa Allicock tied for 16th, clearing 5’5” (1.65m).

In the discus, Brittany Connor finished sixth with a 151’2” (46.07m) throw and Tenasia White placed 12th with a 123’9” (37.73m) mark.

Qualified Chanticleers will take part in the NCAA East Region meet, starting May 27 in Greensboro, N.C.
