Coastal Track & Field Competes at Virginia Tech Final Qualifier

Two Chanticleers post season-best performances

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Four members of the Coastal Carolina Track & Field team competed in the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier on Saturday at the Rector Field House.

Kierra Gabehad a third-place showing in the triple jump with a season best mark of 12.27 meters (40-3.25).

Erica Peakecompeted in the long jump and finished seventh overall after jumping 5.57 meters (18-3.25). Peake also competed in the 200-meter dash and took fifth place with a time of 24.40.

Ashley Davistook part in the 60-meter hurdles and finished with a time of 8.89 to take 10th place. Davis ran in the 200-meter dash and recorded a season best time of 25.51 to grab eighth.

Darriale Henley participated in the 60-meter dash and posted a time of 7.71 to finish in 11th place.

The outdoor season will begin on Sunday, March 4 with the Battle of the Beaches VIII, which will start at 11 a.m.
