COLUMBIA, S.C. – Anjulia Nicholson of the Coastal Carolina University women’s indoor track and field team was the lone Chanticleer to participate at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 19.
She finished third overall in the weight throw with a 51’10.50” (15.81m) throw.
Nicholson and the Chanticleers will travel to Clemson next weekend for the 2011 Big South Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Also competing at the event was former Coastal Carolina women’s track and field All-American and current volunteer assistant coach Amber Campbell. She won the weight throw with a 77’11.50” (23.76m) mark. Campbell will compete at the U.S. Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. on February 27 where she is the current four-time defending national champion in the indoor weight throw. She currently ranks No. 1 in the world in the event.
