Women's Indoor Track Conclude JRF Invitational with 11 Top 10 Finishes

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s indoor track and field team concluded the JRF Combined Events Invitational with 11 top 10 finishes on the final day.  

Sierra Oates was the top finisher for the Chanticleers on day two with a third place finish in the long jump, leaping 18’0.75” (5.57m).  

In the 3,000 meters, Emily Marchini placed third with a time of 10:27.31 and Jamie Brusa was right behind in fourth, crossing the line in 10:29.90.  Janel Reeves rounded out the pack in 10th at 10:46.05.

Erica Peake finished fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.24 and Ashley Davis was close behind in 10th with a time of 26.02.  

Shantelle Patterson threw a personal best in the weight throw with a 52’8” (16.05m) toss, coming in fifth.  

In the mile, Christian Johnson had an indoor personal best in the event, finishing sixth with a time of 5:08.26.  

The distance medley team, consisting of Rindi Wood, Samantha Simile, Shelby Nicosia and Jessica Dennison, placed fourth in the event, crossing the finish in 12:57.58.  

Kierra Gabe tied for second in the high jump with a 5'5" (1.65m) leap.  

In the 4x400-meter relay, Peake, Jerica Howard, Santresa Jamison and Vondeeshia Humphries raced to a fourth place finish with a time of 3:58.67.  

Coastal Carolina heads to the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup next weekend for a one-day meet on Saturday, Feb. 5.
