Women's Indoor Track Finishes First Day at Clemson with Seven Top 10 Finishes

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina University women's indoor track and field team finished day one of the JRF Combined Events Invitational, hosted by Clemson with seven top 10 finishes in five events on Friday, Jan. 28.  The Chanticleers were one of 17 teams at the event.  

Shantelle Patterson was the top finisher for the Chants, placing fourth in the shot put with a personal best throw of 40'8.5" (12.32m).  

Ashley Davis had a good showing in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing fifth with a time of 8.96 while Christian Johnson placed sixth in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line in 2:19.54.

In the 60-meter dash, Darriale Henley finished seventh with a time of 7.78 and Erica Peake was right behind in eighth with a time of 7.79.  

Vondeeshia Humphries and Santresa Jamison finished back-to-back in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 57.91 and 58.10, respectively.  

Coastal will return to the track tomorrow (Jan. 29) at 12 p.m. for the final day of the JRF Combined Events Invitational.
