CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina University's women's tennis program has signed Mary Hill (Munster, Ind./Munster) to a National Letter-of-Intent, Head Coach Jody Davis announced today. Hill will join the program during the 2009-10 academic year.
"Mary Hill will be a great addition to the Coastal Carolina family," Davis commented. "Her extensive background in tennis and drive to succeed will help our whole program from the first day she arrives on campus."
Consistently ranked among the top 100 in the United States her junior career, Hill was ranked a four-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net. She was a National Open Champion in singles in 2002 and 2004 and was a National Champion in doubles in 2005. In high-schook, she led the Mustangs to a team state runner-up finish in her first three years, as she awaits her senior season. She placed third individually last year and earned First Team All-State, All-Conference and All-District honors for the third consecutive season. The daughter of Stephen and Sheila Hill, she amassed a 79-1 all-time individual record and was named her Munster's Team MVP in each of her first three years and is also a member of the A/B Honor Roll.
The Chanticleers will start their 2009 campaign on the road at Appalachian State Sun., Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.
