First Women's Tennis Tournament of the Season at UNC Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina University Women’s Tennis Team participated in the 5^th Annual UNCW Invitational Tennis Tournament sponsored by Atlantic Packaging September 16-18. The women had eight players participating in different draws. The overall singles record was 17-11 and the doubles teams tallied a 9-5 record for the weekend.Sophomore Amy Pazahanick (Atlanta, Ga.) won the Navy flight with four singles wins. “This tournament was a good starting point for our team. Although we had some good performances there is much room for improvement. It’s good to see other players and see where we are at in our progress. The heat was a factor for all the participants and playing three times a day can be difficult. Our team showed great effort and hopefully we can carry that into next weekend’s tournament held at N.C. State.” Head Coach Jody Davis commented.
