The Coastal Carolina University men's and women's tennis teams opened the fall schedule Sept. 10 at the Landfall/UNCW Invitational, as junior Florentin Meynie (Nanterre, France/Universite Paris X) and freshman David Mellis (London, England/Goffs) competed in the men's draw and seniors Marie Matrka (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) and Virginie Dinh (Maisons Albert, France/Sophia) played in the women’s draw.

The doubles team of Matrka and Dinh defeated North Carolina's Charlotte Tansill and Alex Jurewicz 8-6 and will play UNC Wilmington's Kristen Mears and Molly Molony tomorrow. In singles action, Matrka fell to N.C. State's Erin Stahl Johanson 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 while Dinh lost to the Wolfpack's Julia Roach 6-4, 6-2.
