Women's Tennis Caffin, Bajrambasic, and Matrka Earn Big South Tennis Honors

ELON, N.C. — Coastal Carolina’s Arnaud Caffin was named the men’s tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as well as garnering All-Conference honors in singles, while Medina Bajrambasic and Marie Matrka were named all-conference in singles and doubles at Wednesday night's Tennis awards banquet.

Caffin, was named the men’s tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year, while Bajrambasic, the 2001 Big South Rookie of the Year, was named all-conference for the second straight year in singles. Matrka was also earned all-conference honors in doubles for the second consectutive year.

On the women's side, it was a clean sweep for Charleston Southern as they picked up Freshman, Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Barbara Orlay was named both Freshman and Player of the year, while Netzelli Reyes was Scholar Athlete of the Year. Winthrop's Cid Carvalho was named Coach of the Year.

On the men's side, Winthrop's Clayton Almeida took home Player of the Year, while and Co- Freshman of the Year honors went to High Point's Chris Archer and Liberty's Braen Aneiros. Coach of the Year went to High Point's Jerry Tertzagian, who led the Panthers to a 11-2 overall mark and second place in the Big South.
