SPARTANBURG, S.C.-The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team defeated Wofford on Saturday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, 4-0.  Freshman Maria Comberos (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Lomar del Real) picked up her 15th win on the season.

In singles action, senior Hayley Rudman (Johannesburg, South Africa/Northcliff High School (Mississippi State University)) defeated Wofford's Merry Ellen Henry 6-1, 6-2 at the number one spot, Amy Pazahanick (Canton, Georgia/Brookwood High School (Georgia Southern University)) got a victory at number three singles against Cayley Wtzig 6-1, 6-3 and Comberos got her 15th win against Lauren Prickett 6-1, 6-1 at the sixth spot. 

Three matches went unfinished on the day, Adriane Hodges was ahead of Sarize Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa/Oranje Meisieskool (Texas Tech)) after winning the first set 6-4 but being down in the second 2-3 before the match was called.  Coastal's Kimberely Webb (Usk, Wales/Millfield School) was ahead of McKenzie Carson after winning the first set 6-4 and being ahead 3-2 before being cut short.  Sofie Ahlberg (Stockholm,Sweden/Adalsskolan) was ahead 6-3, 3-2 before her match was called against Sabrina Smyers.

In doubles action, Coetzee and Ahlberg defeated Mary Ellen Henry and McKenzie Carson 8-1 and Webb with Comberos took down Sabrina Smyers and Lauren Prickett 8-4.  The doubles match between Rudman and Pazahanick and Wofford's Adriane Hodges and Cayley Wetzig went unfinished. 

The Lady Chanticleers improve to 16-5 on the season while Wofford falls to 5-11.  Coastal returns to action tomorrow as it honors seniors Hayley Rudman and Sarize Coetzee, Nicole Lemmerer in their final match on Billy Nichols Tennis Center against Charleston Southern at 1:30 p.m.   Singles 1.
